SCTE™ and ECEBE Announce Event Speakers in Hungary

HERTFORDSHIRE, U.K.7 September 2015 —The SCTE™, the Society for Broadband Professionals, and East and Central European Broadband Expo (ECEBE) are uniting two events this year into a single broadband conference and exhibition in Budapest (MOM Sports Centre), Hungary on 22-23 September. The conference programme for the event, known as “ECEBE in association with SCTE, The Society for Broadband Professionals”, includes a Keynote speech by Dr. Gábor Bódi, President, National Council for Telecommunications and Informatics, Hungary.

This international exhibition and conference will provide an ideal platform to explore the latest European broadband business opportunities and strategies, as well as regulatory and technical updates. A variety of innovative products and services will be showcased by exhibitors at this event, which is expected to attract hundreds of technical and professional broadband experts from all over the world.

A presentation on ‘FttH Digital Infrastructure and European Investment Funding’ will also be given by Edgar Aker (President, FttH Council) and Engin Unger, Deputy General Manager, Proaktif (and SCTE Ambassador for Turkey) will discuss ‘‘Current and Future Cable Network Trends in Turkey’. Broadband developments in Kosovo will be discussed by Robert Erzin, Executive Director, IPKO Telecommunications whilst the implementation of  MPEG-DASH for HbbTV, HEVC and 4K TV will be explained by Elemental Technologies.

The EU Digital Single Market, LTE mitigation strategies and training for cable operators will also be discussed during the conference.

“Traditionally, our Balkan conferences and exhibitions have been held across the Balkan region in countries such as Kosovo, Macedonia, Croatia and Serbia,” said Dr. Roger Blakeway, President of the SCTE. “Merging with ECEBE in Hungary will both provide a neutral venue and also help to reduce the number of exhibitions and conferences during the autumn season. While we will continue to support the SCTE Balkan group with SCTE events in the Balkans region, we are delighted to be working with ECEBE to grow this combined event across Eastern and Central Europe.”

“The East and Central European Broadband Expo is one of the oldest cable, satellite and broadband exhibitions in Hungary, which was reintroduced by Buda Expo Ltd. in 2012,” added Balázs Regőczi, the ECEBE’s event manager. “Over the last year, we decided to develop the event even further. The result is a combined event in Hungary, in association with the SCTE, the Society for Broadband Professionals.”
