BEAVERTON, Ore., Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As the media industry makes the transition to IP, Tektronix, Inc., an industry-leading innovator of video test and monitoring solutions, is working with leading industry players to showcase technology readiness for the migration to live video over IP. At IBC 2016, the new Tektronix Prism hybrid SDI/IP media analysis platform will be used by Nevion, the award-winning provider of virtualized media production solutions, to demonstrate equipment interoperability. On Nevion's booth (B71 in Hall 1), the Prism platform will be monitoring IP video traffic routed via Nevion's high-performance switches.
The biggest trend in the industry today is the transition from SDI to more flexible and capable IP networks for applications such as live production. With its unique ability to diagnose and correlate both video and IP errors, Prism bridges the gap between these two worlds allowing broadcasters to smoothly transition to IP. At IBC Tektronix will be demonstrating how Prism supports real-world, multi-vendor IP and SDI environments.
"Nevion has always been an active supporter of open standards and vendor interoperability, something we are demonstrating once again at IBC 2016, both on our booth and elsewhere," said Ms. Janne T. Morstøl, Chief Strategy Officer at Nevion. "We were keen to show how our IP offering for studios, facilities and beyond could work with the Prism platform, which can be used to analyze and diagnose both SDI and IP signal types."
